Erasmus+ is the programme of the European Union to support education, training, youth and sport. Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University has been actively involved in its implementation since 2003.

EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme which can take part in all the actions of the Erasmus+ Programme are as follows:

  • 27 member states of the European Union
  • EFTA / EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway
  • EU candidate countries: Turkey, North Macedonia, Serbia

This higher education mobility action (Key Action 1. Learning mobility of individuals) supports the mobility of students in any study fields and cycle of their studies. Students can study abroad at a partner higher education institution, or carry out a traineeship in an enterprise, or any other relevant workplace abroad. Under the Erasmus+ for the years 2021-2027 it is possible to implement the following activities:

Long-term study mobility of students - in order to complete part of the studies at a foreign partner university. The mobility may take place to a foreign university holding an ECHE and with which a bilateral agreement has been signed within a given field of education. The mobility may last from 2 to 12 months (usually one semester). The period of study abroad must be part of the study programme.

Long-term mobility of students /recent graduates for traineeships - in order to carry out a traineeship in a foreign company, institution, or other organization related to the field of study. The mobility may last from 2 to 12 months.

Short-term mobility of students - to carry out a short-term physical mobility combined with a compulsory virtual component, especially for students who are not able to participate in long-term physical study or traineeship mobility e.g. participating in a blended intensive programme.

Taking part in the Erasmus+ programme gives students the opportunity to develop their communication, language and inter-cultural skills, gain practical knowledge, learn about other teaching methods, or get to know other cultures. It enhances their personal development, students become more resourceful, independent, self-confident and tolerant. The international experience gained during the mobility may also have a positive impact on their future career and the professional development.
